The Best Two Years: August 2016

It has felt like forever since my first P Day wasn’t for a week and a half. I still have 5 more weeks to go but I love every second of it. Ciudad De México is so cool.

My compañero is a super rad dude from Texas, Elder Flores, all the Latino teachers love talking to him because he is Latino and his last name is Flowers in Español. The CCM is incredible, it is like EFY on steroids except we are learning a language on top off everything.

I decided to do choir because my whole district was doing it, plus you get the comfortable seats during devotionals. It has been incredible how fast my prayers are answered here and how many spiritual experiences I have had. El Don de Linguas (the gift of tongues) is amazing and I have already learned so much that I can teach 20 minute discussions.

I got to go to the Mexico City Temple today for an endowment session and it was so awesome. It looks like an ancient Mayan Pyramid.

The city stinks and is full of poverty and you occasionally hear gunshots but its still super beautiful in its own way. From my room my view is of a small mountain with bright pink, yellow, and blue houses built like halfway up the mountain.

I was humbled pretty hard when I first arrived at the CCM (MTC) especially while trying to learn the language. When I prayed for help and guidance I didn’t realize just how right you where when you said that missionaries are on the front line of prayer. We have an "investigator" that we have to teach entirely in Español for about a week. At first my companion and I needed to write a script to know what phrases to use, now our last lesson is tonight and for the past 3 lessons we have been leading actual discussions without any writing.

The days have been so long here at the CCM but also so filling. Learning Spanish all day long with El Don de Linguas has improved my Spanish more than all my high school classes ever. I miss and love you guys so much but I know this is exactly where I am supposed to be.
