Work here has gotten just a little bit slower since we
haven't been able to bike as much due to the ice and because most
of the sidewalks are piled with snow and we don't trust the drivers
enough to bike the roads.
However we are sure the Lord is preparing someone for
us right now, we have been focusing on visiting those who we feel strongly to visit. It has brought forth
much more success and I can testify of the amazing feeling it is to
truly give up
everything to the Lord and become his instrument to
bring this eternal joy to everyone who will accept it. Doing everything
by the Spirit is the way missionary work has been done, any other way
just doesn't work as well.
This last Saturday we had the chance to visit a zone baptism which
was actually in the last ward I served in! It was really great to see a few old
friends from my first area. We brought an investigator of course. He moved to Utah quite a while ago actually. He was actually married
to an LDS woman for a while but they ended up getting divorced, he's been
taking the lessons for a number of years now and is even best friends with our
amazing Stake President. But recently he has started coming to church every
week and has been inviting his son to talk with us. The biggest
problem has been when we invite baptism, he says he doesn't feel
quite ready yet and is still not sure about Joseph Smith. The baptism we took
him to though really helped out a lot, some members he was talking to asked him
when he would be baptized and he said "I'm not sure yet, but sometime
soon". Which was pretty amazing. On top of that our Stake President challenged
him to read the Book of Mormon at least 15 minutes a day and also the JS
History. So we'll see what'll become of that.
